Located on the hilltop above the Dordogne River, Chateau de Lafont has chalky clay soil, groundwaters and direct sun exposure facing the south gave Chateau de Lafont the perfect conditions to make the finest wines.
All first label of Chateau de Lafont wines are aged in new oak barrel for one time only.The process Impart oak characters and longevity to the wines hence Chateau de Lafont wines would need at least 5 years to be drinkable ready.
The winemakers of Chateau de Lafont are under the consultation of Chateau Ausone, St-Emilion and is a boutique vineyard with limited wine production.
Chateau de Lafont 2010 is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. It is aged in 12 months in new oak barrels and 4 years in bottle before released with an annual production of 800 bottles.

Deep opaque purple core with bright reflections
Nose
Baked red fruits and fresh dark berries with graphite, caramel and leather notes
Taste
Smooth progression towards a warm mid-palate, giving fruity and secondary tones. The finish is complete and extended by a lengthy freshness. Dense and creamy texture with fine-grained tannins.
Verdict
A powerful vintage with great aging potentials. Drink from year 2017 -2035.
